Interested prospective owners may opt to be put on the waiting list. Please complete the "new owners survey" and remit to carriagedogs@yahoo.com. We cannot guarantee a puppy in the sex and color you desire will be available until all have been BAER hearing tested and evaluated around 6-8 wks of age. This litter is liver factored.

Dam, Flashpoint's Freeze frame is Certified BAER BILATERAL* (has hearing in both ears). Dam from OFA excellent and OFA good certified parents. Championship is one major, 10 points total earned. More than half completed.
The sire is owned by Jeff Gillespe. Mikey, AKA AKC Ch CH Amera's Su Sue Me, hips certified OFA** (Orthopedic Foundation for animals) "EXCELLENT." hearing certified BAER bilateral.
Puppies are basic obedience started and ready for their new homes by eight weeks of age. They will be BAER hearing tested, de wormed and had their first vaccinations by the time they are integrated with their new families.
Puppies are expected to be neutered/spayed by six months of age and loved as indoor companions to loving families. We require all homes have a fenced in yard and agree to not allow the Dal to run free. We retain the right of first refusal should the owner not be able to care for their dog at any point. Flashpoint Dalmatians are not to be abandoned to a shelter or resold or a pet shop or other party.

As you may have "heard", Dalmatians can have congenital deafness. Luckilly most Dalmatians have useful hearing as stated as such by stats presented from the Dalmatian Club of America:

Total Congenital Deafness (should it occur) is detectable before the puppy begins it's eighth week of development (see Ethics #'s 9 & 10)....
Dalmatian hearing is linked to the extreme piedbald gene and possibly blue eye color. All of our puppies are BAER hearing tested prior to placement. Acquired hearing loss and hearing loss due to the normal aging process is not asscociated with congenital deafness in Dalmatians. Dalmatians having unilateral hearing (hearing in one ear, deafness in the other) make fine companions. They are as delightful to live with as bilateral hearing Dalmatians.
**OFA: Orthopedic Foundation for Animals: For infor on hip dysplasia click. A dog free of hip dysplasia as depicted by radiographs submitted to OFA, a rating of EXCELLENT, GOOD or FAIR. beyond this, the dog is not found to pass the hip dysplasia evaluation. All of our Flashpoint dogs are OFA evaluated prior to breeding.

If you are local to Georgia, please visit our regional specialty club of which I am a board member: The Dalmatian Club of Greater Atlanta.
I am an approved evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen Program. Available to test dogs for the CGC. Please contact me if you need your dog tested. A six week training class leading to the CGC test is forming. Interested parties should e-mail me as class size is limited.
We also have retired show dogs and rescue Dalmatians from time to time. Please inquire if you are seeking an older retired show dog or rescue. All recues and retired show dogs will be spayed/neutered and placed carefully into loving pet homes. Please drop us an e-mail if you are looking to add an older Dalmatian to your life. We will post available dogs as we are able.
AVAILABLE: Kodak. Kodak is a 2 and a half yr old B&W hand-painted copy of her sire, Omen. She is UTD on vaccinations and will be spayed prior to placement. She is certified BAER bilateral. Her placement fee is $250. Good in the house, crate trained, very energetic. Would do fine in a home with a another altered dog. Has been raised around teenagers, cats and other dogs. Congratulations to Omen and his new mom & dad, Jane & Gene Brinkley! The happy couple found a new friend for her dog, Chaos after she lost her older Dalmatian last year.
Omen is hand painted and from a frozen semen litter in which I was able to watch the entire implant process through the graciousness of Rebecca Kestle DVM of Sandy Springs, GA. He is out of my Champion Flashpoint's Photogenic (Jenna) and Champion Satin's Clownin' Around CDX (Jester). Jenna now lives on a farm with her horses and Jester has since passed on.
Omen is a lovely even tempered gentle male that has gone a bit too large for the show ring.He stands at 24 inches at the withers and is very muscular. He is now neutered, BAER bilateral and his hips have cleared OFA with a rating of "good."

Requirements on older dogs:
Placement fee
Mandatory spay of females, neuter of males prior to placement. (We do not permit breeding of companion Dalmatians.)
Secured fence of at least 5-6 feet high in the back yard of the residence.
Dalmatian is considered to be a companion and not tied or chained in any fashion.
Veterinarian reference.
Crate for allowing the dog privacy and refuge.
Agreement to enroll the dog in basic obedience training.
Right of first refusal. If you cannot keep your Dalmatian, we prefer to have the dog returned to the safety and care of our home. Refund is not implied due to costs associated with re-homing.

Please note: Our Dalmatians are not in desperate need of homes. We strive to maintain the integrity and dignity of our dogs through careful screening of potential keepers. We attempt to determine the most likely permanent home through careful screening. Our inquiry as to living expectations for the Dals should be viewed as a positive part of the interview process. Matching the new owner to the right Dalmatian is important for all parties concerned. Sometimes our questions may seem somewhat nosey. Truthfully, it is because we have seen and heard a lot of unforseen and preventable dog surrenders. In an effort to prevent unessesary dog surrender, we ask a lot of questions - all based to ensure a proper forever match. Thank you for understanding!
